General Ledger Team Lead
(Belgrade - Hybrid)
Job description:
The Team Lead General Ledger is responsible for overseeing the GL function within the SSC, ensuring timely and accurate financial record-keeping, reconciliations, and reporting. This role includes managing a local team of GL specialists, maintaining compliance with internal controls and accounting regulations, and supporting process harmonization across business units.
- Lead the GL team within the SSC, including daily task coordination, performance management, and development
- Ensure timely and accurate posting of journal entries, accruals, and month-end adjustments
- Monitor and resolve reconciliation discrepancies, open items, and intercompany queries
- Maintain the chart of accounts in coordination with corporate finance and controlling teams
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls
- Lead month-end and year-end closing activities related to the general ledger
- Collaborate with sending entities and corporate stakeholders to harmonize GL processes
- Participate in process documentation and knowledge transfer during transitions
- Monitor KPIs (e.g. closing cycle time, reconciliation accuracy) and ensure SLA adherence
- Identify and support automation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Act as escalation point for complex GL issues
Work Experience and Skills:
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in Genral Ledger or related finance functions
- At least 2–3 years of experience in managing a team
- A team- and service-oriented approach, combined with a strong commitment to delivering high-level performance
- Proficient in SAP or similiar platforms
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
